George Miller Talks Mad Max: Fury Road

Mad Max art

Lost in all the excitement of the summer movie season was the fact that George Miller finally started principal photography on Mad Max: Fury Road?back on July 9. It?s been a long time coming, but we?re actually getting a new Mad Max movie, and potentially a series of movies.

The film?s plot was a subject of much speculation in the long lead-up to filming, and now Miller has given us a brief synopsis of what the film will be about via a press release announcing the start of production. Believe us when we warn you that it sounds pretty wild.

?Mad Max is caught up with a group of people fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by the Imperator Furiosa. This movie is an account of the Road War which follows. It is based on the Word Burgers of the History Men and eyewitness accounts of those who survived.?

Word Burgers of the History Men, eh? We?ll go along with that?

Tom Hardy headlines the project as Max Rockatansky, and is joined by Charlize Theron as Imperator Furiosa. Rounding out the cast are Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nathan Jones and Rosie Huntington-Whitley.

The film is currently filming on location in Africa. Original plans were to shoot in New South Wales, Australia, but flooding necessitated moving the production to a different locale.

Does that plot synopsis and cast list get you excited for Max?s new adventure? Share your thoughts with us below.?
